About Megan

Megan Stewart, Lic.Ac. M.Ed., is the founder and owner of Acupuncture of Hingham.

Megan’s interest in natural healing techniques began when her children were young. Wanting to find ways to keep herself and her family healthy, she began a self-study of homeopathy in 1994 and soon after enrolled in a three-year homeopathy program under the instruction of Lou Klein in Portland, Maine. Following her certification and to this day, she continues to train yearly with him. Her interest in acupuncture began following the birth of her first of three children, as it helped her recover from a long and difficult labor. She enrolled in New England School of Acupuncture and graduated in 2001 with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture.

Megan founded Acupuncture of Hingham in 2002. Over the course of her 20 years of practice, she has witnessed the body’s natural ability to heal itself, with a gentle nudge from acupuncture, homeopathy and nutritional guidance. Her practice incorporates traditional chinese medicine, classical homeopathy, moxibustion, cupping, and dietary suggestions.

To stay abreast of improvements and updates in acupuncture and homeopathy, Megan takes continuing education classes in both fields of study.  In 2008, she completed a 60-hour course, the Fertile Garden: Treating Infertility with Traditional Chinese Medicine. She completed advanced study in ‘Acupuncture and Reproductive Endocrinology’ in 2013, and ‘Using Acupuncture in Labor and Delivery’ in 2015.

Most recently, Megan has come to embrace the power of food as medicine and believes good food has the ability to support the prevention of disease and keep us healthy. In 2019, she received a certificate from Cornell University in plant-based nutrition. She continues to use her training to guide patients in their journey to the realization of full health with the addition of supportive food choices and optimum nutrition.

Megan’s early career -- following a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Psychological Services from Springfield College and undergraduate degree in Psychology from Westfield State College -- gives her the grounding in human psychology and behavior. She continues to use her unique skillset in listening and holding space in her current practice to help identify underlying causes to patients’ symptoms.
